Home Goods Pay - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that TJX Companies Inc., of Framingham, Massachusetts, has agreed to pay $13 million for the purchase, offering for sale and distribution of previously contemplated consumer products.

TJX also agreed to maintain an obligation to ensure it meets its legal obligations in the future with this settlement, according to CPSC officials.

The contract covers the costs the company bought, offered for sale and distributed among 1,200 recalled products from 21 separate repairs over a five-year period, from March 2014 to October 2019.

Federal law prohibits the sale, offering for sale or distribution in commerce of a consumer product subject to corrective action, such as a recall, that has been publicly announced and reported to the CPSC.

CPSC officials alleged that TJX bought, offered for sale and distributed the recalled products in its physical stores, including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and online.

Most of the post-recall sales were for products recalled due to infant mortality and morbidity, including the Kids II Rocking Sleepers, Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play Sleepers, and the Fisher-Price Inclined Sleeper accessory for Ultra-Lite Day & Night. Yard Games.

In addition to paying a $13 million civil fine, TJX will maintain a compliance program and a system of internal controls to ensure that the company is compliant with the Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA), including a program for proper identification, isolation and product delivery recall .

TJX also maintains internal controls designed to ensure TJX complies with the CPSA, requiring TJX to review claims, report safety issues and take corrective action and take corrective action when deficiencies or violations are identified, and senior management oversight must adhere to TJX's compliance program.
